THIS IS FOR YOU!
One on One, Online Tutoring is identical to One on One, Home Tutoring with the exception that it takes place online. This service is being offered in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and with the realization that many families would like to limit physical contact and maintain social distancing. Because this option does not require travel, or space rental it is also slightly less expensive than in home tutoring.
HOW THIS PROCESS WORKS
One on one in home tutoring normally involves a minimum of ten, in home, weekly sessions. Some students may require more sessions and some fewer. The process begins with students writing a baseline practice test to familiarize themselves with the content and structure of the SSAT.Once a student has a baseline score, our work together begins in earnest with lessons and sequencing tailored to the student’s needs. In addition to our one on one time, I ask students to complete roughly three to four hours of homework per week. Our work together concludes with a final targeting and strategy session to ensure that a student knows exactly how many questions she or he should attempt in order to maximize their score.

IS THERE ANY MATERIAL WE NEED TO PURCHASE?
Families will need to purchase an Official Study Guide for either the Middle or Upper Level SSAT. That resource is written by the SSAT test development team and is available to order through: https://www.ssat.org/. You will need to visit that site to register to take the test. I rely on this material because its practice tests most nearly resemble actual SSAT questions. It is far more reliable than other available practice tests.
Students not living in Toronto will need to purchase Kaplan, SSAT and ISEE Middle and Upper Prep 2020. This resource is available from Amazon or Indigo.
